Update 2008

Hi all.
Well 2007 came and went and we’re well and truly into 2008. I have resumed teaching. I am based at a private music school in Castle Hill, Sydney. You can find out the details here: Visit S2S school!

As well as teaching jazz/contemporary piano, I am working on some teaching ideas that will be helpful for anyone wanting to develop home studio music making - computer music/ recording techniques/ etc. And other training opportunities for musicianship, band playing, and a few other things.

For my own study, I have been taking classical piano lessons from a wonderful teacher, Marciej Pawela. I am enjoying his teaching style - as is my 8 year old son who has begun piano lessons too.

I’ve also had the pleasure of getting some jazz piano tuition from one of Australia’s leading pianist’s, Alistair Spence and also one of New Zealand’s best Jazz Pianists, Charmaine Ford. Charmaine and her husband Justin (a very good drummer) have just relocated from NZ to Sydney to further their careers. Charmaine and Justin are also friends I knew back in NZ so it’s good to see them coming here. Oz is in for a treat with Charmaine’s jazz - and I suspect will be claiming her as an Aussie soon enough!

With many things still to learn, and many wonderful teachers keen to pass on what they have learnt, I know it’s going to be an eventful year. I’ve already had a busy several months gig wise - 14 gigs in the first two months of 2008 already.

Keep an eye out for future developments, and if you’re after some tuition, please drop me an email or a phone call and I’ll be happy to help.

All the best.

Due to the changes and busyness of life, I will no longer be continuing with teaching next term.
